A 7-mile Journey on the Toccoa River’s Clear, Cold Trout Water, Plus a Visit to The Groovy Zoo, A Folk Art Zoo Where You Can Buy the Animals The Toccoa River in far North Georgia as it exits Blue Ridge Dam is our destination for our final folk art river adventure of the year. Renowned as one of Georgia’s top trout fishing destinations, the Toccoa dishes out cold, clear water with a mix of flatwater and small shoals as it winds from Blue Ridge to McCaysville on the Georgia-Tennessee state line. Our route will run from the Curtis Switch launch site to McCaysville City Park. Following the journey, we will travel to nearby Mineral Bluff, Georgia and The Groovy Zoo, home to whimsical creatures crafted from metal, aluminum and wood…including elephants, horses, bears and a 20-foot giraffe named Harold. Register Registration fees are $35 for youth and $70 for adults and youth. Registration closes Aug. 14 or when full. Registration fees include guide services, river maps and shuttle service.
