We will meet in front of the restrooms at the Stone Mountain Trailhead outside the park in the town of Stone Mountain. We will meet at 8:20 am for introductions with a hike start of 8:30 am. We will take the Stone Mountain trail into the park and head towards the mountain walk up trailhead. We will take the left side connecting trail to the Cherokee Trail and proceed over the lower portion of the mountain. We will continue on the Cherokee Trail to the conntecting trail around the lake where we again pick up the Cherokee Trail taking it to the green trail. We hike the green trail back to the Stone Mountain trail and then back to the parking area outside the park. We will have completed 6.1 miles over paved surfaces, rock surfaces and natural trail with roots and dirt.
