The Nantahala River is NOC's flagship whitewater trip and one of the most-run rivers in the South. Eight miles of Class I-II rapids are accessible for beginners, finishing with the Class III Nantahala Falls at the takeout. The Appalachian Trail crosses the river at Wesser. NOC's main campus has dining, lodging, and outdoor retail.
